READY TO SHIP: Winged Scarab necklace in oxidized sterling silver

A flat, stylized scarab, cast in solid sterling silver that has been partially oxidized. Suspended from a sterling silver 3.1mm oval patterned chain, each scarab holds aloft a 6mm natural, ethically sourced fair trade gemstone. Current stones available are purple chalcedony cabochon and rose cut blue chalcedony.

This design was inspired by my lifelong love of ancient Egyptian funerary customs. Because a scarab beetle was thought to roll the sun across the sky every day, the Egyptians associated it with the cycle of death & rebirth. It was used commonly in funerary jewelry.

Scarab measures 1 1/4" at its widest point and 1 1/2" long.
